Lower School is a dynamic learning community for grades Transitional Kindergarten through Five. The 较低的学校 experience is predicated on the belief that relationships serve as the foundation of every child’s life and learning experience. Student connections are fostered throughout the school, and our sense of community establishes a caring learning environment. Learning is action! The pathways to each child’s future are carved by movement, engagement, collaboration, intentional design, and the use of technology as learning tools. This is where the magic of learning begins.

The 较低的学校 philosophy for learning is built upon the importance of social development and responsibility, creating awareness of the personal strengths of others and ourselves, and recognizing and striving to meet the needs of others on a local, national, and international level. Our social curriculum is the foundation of all learning at our school. It was designed by combining the works of Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Happy Kids, Jim Fey’s Love and Logic, and the research based and highly successful Responsive Classroom. Each school day begins with a morning message from the teacher and a class meeting that allows for all children to share celebrations, information, and opinions within their classroom community.


Our global curriculum is an exciting component woven throughout the Lower School learning experience. This program is enhanced by our innovative World Language studies program. Students are exposed to French, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese during their earliest years.  Prior to entering Second Grade, one language of study is selected for the remaining four years of 较低的学校. We offer a proficiency-based World Language curriculum that continues through graduation.


In 较低的学校 we strive to nurture the “whole” child socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively in a creative and engaging, innovative manner. Our ultimate goal is to develop great global citizens through exposure to diverse cultures, collaborative learning experience, and creative project work such as STEM through a differentiated instructional approach.

Technology is widely used as a tool to enhance learning. iPads, chromebooks, and other devices are appropriately used as learning tools to enhance student learning. A passion for learning in a supportive, nurturing environment prepares students in an exciting way for their world!
